Luke Burgess Racing #58

Luke Burgess at Phillip Island winning ASBK 250 Production Class 2012

ASBK Rnd 2 Hidden Valley - Darwin

Luke has started the 2012 with some high's and some low's.
Luke had an impressive win on his Ninja 250R at Rnd 1 ASBK at Phillip Island, only to be to caught up in a crash that sadly saw fellow rider Oscar McIntyre loose his life, this crash finished Luke's chances to race Rnd 1 on his ZX6R  ( superstock 600) the following day.

Luke then travelled down to Broadford Victoria the following month to contest the ASBK 250 Production Class Rnd 2.  This round was very competitive and very close racing with fellow rider Zac Levy on his Honda 250, which saw Luke take the Overall win for the day, making Luke the points leader going into the next Round for the 250 Production Class at Queensland Raceway in May 2012.

Luke has also competeted in Rnd 1 Queensland Supermoto Championship at Stanthorpe in March, after Qualifying in Pole 2 only .4 of a second off Beau Laing, (a rider that knows Stanthorpe's track very well).  Luke then proceeded to finish in respectable 2nd and 3rd placings until a crash causing the officials to make the decision of Luke staying trackside for the rest of the meeting, due to concussion. A disappointing end to a great weekend of racing. This has only made Luke more determined to acheive results in the next 2 rounds coming up at Whitsunday Raceway and then Mareeba.

Luke is now getting ready to travel to Darwin for Rnd 2 ASBK for the 600 Superstock Class later this month ( April) he is excited to be able to get back on his ZX6R after the Phillip Island Crash.

Luke would like to Thank Kawasaki Australia for taking his crashed bike back to Sydney and carrying out all the repairs nessasary to race again. Thank you again so much for all your help and efforts.

Luke Burgess # 586/58/2

Born: 13/2/1994 (18yo) - Mackay, Nth Qld
Racing Discipline: Dirt Track, Road Racing, Motard

Preffered bike/s: Kawasaki KX450F / Ninja 250R and Ninja ZX6R

Luke is a Multi State and National Champion in Dirt Track ,  In his first year of Road Racing - 2010 he won the Qld Road Race Title on his Ninja250R and NQ Road Race Title also on his Ninja250R.

He has always raced in the Dirt Track discipline of racing with Road Racing always to be in his future from a young age.
Once Luke turned 16yo he then started focusing on Road Racing, which for a rider living in Mackay, North Queensland is a big task ,as North Queensland does not cater for road bike racing over 400cc.

This has meant alot of travel to Ipswich and Warwick (South of Brisbane) for race meetings and "even Practice"  as they are the closest tracks ! 12 hours away.

This has never detered Luke from venturing into Road Racing , it has only made him more deteremined to succeed..........................
